PLANNING / CONSULTATION
We are excited to share the latest updates on the Konect62 project, being brought forward by Cole Waterhouse and Henderson Park, at the former Kellingley Colliery in Knottingley.
Our investment into this 136-acre employment site is well underway, and we are on track to create one of the best-connected, most sustainable manufacturing and distribution sites in the UK. This project not only builds on the rich legacy of Kellingley Colliery as an important historic employer but also promises to revitalise the area for the benefit of the local community.
We are in the process of reviewing the feedback provided at our public consultation event and received from the online feedback form, ahead of submitting our Phase 2 Planning Application to the Local Planning Authority.
The Proposals
Situated strategically at the intersection of the M62 and A1(M) motorways, Konect 62 provides optimal logistical support for manufacturing and distribution operations. The construction of the buildings is being carried out to meet stringent sustainability standards, with the aim of achieving BREEAM Excellent certification.
Phase 2 of the project will include a variety of employment proposals for the remainder of the site.
Benefits of the Project
Collectively, Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this project will deliver a host of benefits to the local community. These include:
